I have been a resident of Oving for 14 years this June (2021). Second time round for being a Parish Councilor. I am passionate about the environment and conservation.

I have planted 8 trees along Church Lane which have been admired by many. I have more saplings growing in my garden ready for planting in a couple of years time.
I am also interested in planning and I am now on the Council’s planning committee.

I am concerned about our ability to grow a resilient community based within the urbanised setting of Shopwyke.

My training as a physicist informs me that adopting a triple-bottom-line accounting system is our best option for a comfortable transition through the social, environmental, and economic challenges ahead. In the absence of such a system; direct involvement with our Parish Council gives us at least some control and certainty over our social accounting and prosperity.

Ben Hunt

Cllr Ben Hunt

Councillor

I moved to Shopwyke in 2021 and joined the parish council two years later with the ambition of helping the local community.
I have worked all over the world but prefer being on the local beaches with my family, cycling and riding my motorbike.
